Our God Reigns by Delirious?

40 million babies lost to God's great orphanage,
It's a modern day genocide and a modern day disgrace.
If this is a human right then why aren't we free?
The only freedom we have is in a man nailed to a tree.

100 million faces, staring at the sky,
Wondering if this HIV will ever pass us by.
The devil stole the rain and hope trickles down the plug,
But still my Chinese take away could pay for someone's drugs.

Our God reigns, Our God reigns,
Forever Your kingdom reigns.

The west has found a gun and it's loaded with 'unsure',
Nip and tuck if you have the bucks in a race to find a cure.
Psalm one hundred and thirty nine is the conscience to our selfish crime,
God didn't screw up when He made you,
He's a Father who loves to parade you.

Yes He reigns, yes You reign, yes You reign,
For there is only one true God,
But we've lost the reins on this world,
Forgive us all, forgive us please,
As we fight for this broken world on our knees.

SUCCESS
Quote - ' ...the Lord... has pleasure in the prosperity of His servant." - Ps 35:27

Throughout the commercial word, business world, entertainment world, there is a definite, reported image of the person who is a success.
People will first look at you before they listen to you.
What they see will affect how they hear.
The man who is a success is purposeful - stands and sits straight, walks briskly, looks people directly in the eye.
He has direction and knowledge on how to get there.
He is competent - organises his thoughts before speaking.
Is simple, brief, specific and direct. Is not rushed.
Analytical - asks more than he tells. Listens to answers. Doesn't accept generalities.
Decisive, states the problem, then the solution.
Talks straight. Doesn't waste time.
Confident - considers obstacles as challenges.
Isn't tense with others (including superiors) knows the art of casual conversation.
Appearance - dresses one level up. Maintains a healthy weight range.
There are rules to life.
Many know them but continue to disregard them and still wonder why they are losing.

Phew. Time really flies. So fast, next week will be my mid-semester break. Which is week 7. Which means my finals are coming in 1 1/2 months' time. Need to really buck up and study.

Oh ya, we've agreed that studying is very unhealthy. Because we're always trying to find place to study and often we end up with McDonalds. Which is quite fattening. Reminds me of 'Super Size Me'. So I'll need to find more time to exercise too, especially when my saturdays are now booked by tuition. Exercise on sunday then. I want to go swimming! =d

Valentines' day was spent going to school for quiz and for my espanol class. After that was N112 cell group and they celebrated valentines' day with balloons and ribbons, heart-shaped jelly, bee hoon, and a letter to their assigned partner. Hahaha. Quite fun and hilarious. After that, went to eat with Del, Daph, Margt and Guangzheng as the younger members left. Another interesting session. Hahaha.

Next day, went over to buy all the things needed for N341 Valentines' day cell group. Was nearly sabo-ed by the florist. It was not opened on that day! Huahhh.. I nearly wanted to burn down the place. Thank God, found another florist nearby and bought the roses. (Very nice roses, affordable too. =d) Then went over to Daph's house to help make the sherperd's pie for the cell group. Waited for kimberly for 1 HOUR. 'Cause she dozed off.-_-. Hahaha. Then went up to Daph's house to finish the stuffs. Went over to buy the yusheng at NTUC, went back to Daph's house, then cab to Timothy's house. After cell group, celebrated valentines' as a cell group. Everything turned out well and everyone enjoyed themselves. Then home-d with Jonathan.

Pastor Tan's word on last saturday was really great. Built to last. Whenever anyone starts out anything, he/she never plan it out with the intention of failing, but one always start out with something that is supposed to be built to last. Values are needed for long tem growth.

10 Eternal values to be built on:
1) Value of Loyalty
2) Value of Commitment
3) Value of Respect (Humility, submission to authority)
4) Value of Accountability (Connectedness, communication)
5) Value of Family (Balance)
6) Value of Love (Forgiveness, mercy, grace)
7) Value of Faithfulness (Trustworthyness)
8) Value of Diligence (Hardwork)
9) Value of Integrity (Truthfulness)
10) Value of Generosity (Giving)

Sunday, accompanied members to service and then waited for angeline(malang) for her to end her ministry. Waited until I dozed off while reading some stuffs. Hahaha. Then we went over to bishan to buy some drinks and head over to Daph's house 'cause the whole malang team was invited to go over to fellowship for chinese new year. Hahaha. Reached too early, so we just nua-ed at the house while Daph was preparing the stuffs with her mum. Fellowshipped with them, then with jiayi and the rest of the relatives who came over with Amanda and Angeline. After that, just left with Angeline(malang) and went home.

This whole week has been quite good, studying alot. Mainly with colby at Suntec McDonalds. Until I recognise some of the people there and vice versa. Hahaha. And it's unhealthy! Getting fat already. Cannot. Need to exercise. During my break and weekends and holidays. Still pondering should I go overseas next semester. And about my attachment. Hmmmm. Many things to plan and ponder about.

Later, will be going for overnight prayer meeting~! So exciting~! Hahaha. It's been a long time since they last had one. Will be thoroughly blessed! =d

That's all for this week le. I'll leave you with the poem that pastor Tan read to us. And the song built to last. =)

Till the next time,
Till the last trumpet sound.

The Strength Of A Man by Jacqueline M Griffiths

The strength of a man
isn't seen in the width of his shoulders.
It's seen in the width
of his arms that circle you.

The strength of a man
isn't in the deep tone of his voice.
It's in the gentle words he whispers.

The strength of a man
isn't how many buddies he has.
It's how good a buddy
he is with his kids.

The strength of a man isn't
in how respected he is at work.
It's in how respected
he is at home.

The strength of a man
isn't in how hard he hits.
It's in how tender he touches.

The strength of a man isn't in the hair on his chest.
It's in his heart, that lies within his chest.

The strength of a man
isn't how many women he's loved.
It's in can he be true to one woman.

The strength of a man
isn't in the weight he can lift.
It's in the burdens
he can carry...

Bulit To Last by Melee

I've looked for love in stranger places
but never found someone like you
someone whose smile
makes me feel i've been holding back
and now there's nothing I can't do

cause this is real, and this is good
it warms the inside just like it should
but most of all
most of all, it's built to last
it's built to last

all of our friends
saw from the start
so why didn't we believe it too?
now look, where we are
you're in my heart now
and there's no escaping it for you

walking on the hills at night
with those fireworks and candlelight
you and i were made to get love right

cause you are the sun in my universe
consider the best when we felt the worst
and most of all, most of all
most of all, most of all,
most of all. most of all
it's built to last

East To West By Casting Crowns

Here I am, Lord, and I'm drowning in your sea of forgetfulness
The chains of yesterday surround me
I yearn for peace and rest
I don't want to end up where You found me
And it echoes in my mind, keeps me awake tonight
I know You've cast my sin as far as the east is from the west
And I stand before You now as though I've never sinned
But today I feel like I'm just one mistake away from You leaving me this way

Jesus, can You show me just how far the east is from the west
'cause I can't bear to see the man I've been come rising up in me again
In the arms of Your mercy I find rest
'cause You know just how far the east is from the west
From one scarred hand to the other

I start the day, the war begins, endless reminding of my sin
Time and time again Your truth is drowned out by the storm I'm in
Today I feel like I'm just one mistake away from You leaving me this way

I know You've washed me white, turned my darkness into light
I need Your peace to get me through, to get me through this night
I can't live by what I feel, but by the truth Your word reveals
I'm not holding on to You, but You're holding on to me
You're holding on to me

Jesus, You know just how far the east is from the west
I don't have to see the man I've been come rising up in me again
In the arms of Your mercy I find rest
'cause You know just how far the east is from the west
From one scarred hand to the other
One scarred hand to the other
From one scarred hand to the other

PATIENCE

Quote - ' And a servant of the Lord must be... patient.' - 2 Tim 2:24

Patience is coping with people's faults and failings.
Patience is controlling your attitude when you want to lose it.
Patience is not raising your voice when you're angry.
Patience is a soft answer.
Patience is giving people more time than you think you should.
It is bearing with people while they learn what you already know.
Patience will make you 'complete', the Bible says, 'lacking nothing.'
Patience is waiting for people and doing it with a great attitude.
Patience is not huffing, sighing, and 'losing it'.
Patience is ruling your spirit.
Be patient!
With others. With yourself. With God.

The timing of God is perfect.

14 Feburary. A nice day, to blog, this is. Hahaha. Apparently, my tutor is not a romantic person and thus happily planned a quiz on this day. Sadist. Nacissist. Bleah. =X

Feburary has been quite uneventful so far. The first few days were spent quite normally. Sort of a routine. That's the word. Routine. Good or bad, depends on individual. A cycle that goes round and round. Never-ending. Until you break off from the cycle or until you are too tired to run and so the cycle just carry you through. Sadly but true. Just ask any hamster. =D

Chinese new year was quite ok. Slightly more increased in ang bao numbers. Used to be 1. This year I got 4. Hahaha. Well, like what they say, when you hit the bottom, the only way we go is up. Also increased in the quantity too~! Wuhoo~! Great~!

Chinese new year, almost all the time out except not on visitations. Day 1 spent at home playing my old Xbox. Then in the afternoon went to met Del, Daph and Angeline(Malang) for just plain fellowship at Leisure Park (opposite Indoor Stadium). Most of the shops are still not opened or still shifting in. We end up chilling at Coffeebean. Just simple chilling. After that, went back home to relax and after that met up with some people again. Mainly, Joel, Mac, Jasmine, Jonathan, Colby, Yun Shuen. Came up with one conclusion. Not many people know where is the Japanese War Memorial. Neither does the policemen who were on duty at river ang bao. Hahaha. Most people mistook the WWI Memorial for it. Anyway, river ang bao was really packed with poeple and expensive stuffs. We went to Marina Square's Starbucks to chat and finally ended at some place at Esplanade. Hahahahaha. All over the place. But it was quite an ok night.

Day 2, stayed and rotted at home until evening time, went over to Changi Airport to send Joel off. Saw his aunt and cousin. So we walked a while and chatted about our dreams. Then we went to eat at the staff canteen where only 2 stalls were opened. But we almost forgot the time and poor Joel had to rush all over the place to find the boarding gate. Hahaha. But he finally got on and should be back in New Zealand now. After that, went down to find the cell group at vivocity. Felliowshipped a while and then we went over to Boon Keng McDonalds to chat because we were planning to watch a movie at Balastier. Talked too long, then we end up rushing over to Balastier by foot. Del and angeline nearly died-ed with their heels. Reached the place on time to catch the movie CJ7. Not a bad movie, quite hilarious and yet touching. After that, ensure that the gals took cab back home, the guys went to eat at McDonalds ('cause it's the only thing that is opened.), fellowshipped and we went over to Jonathan's house to play mahjong. Hahahaha. Until next day morning and then we went off.

Day 3, basically sleep and sleep until evening then went over to queensway to look for a present. Was hoping to find something that is below budget and praying to God about it. Because so far, the shoes i'm looking for is about 40 plus, 50. Finally, I found one within my budget, which is 25. Praise the Lord! Hahaha. So had it gift wrapped, ate dinner then went home.

Day 4, went for service. Pastor talked about husbands and wives. Though it might not seems revelant, I was impacted by it. Because it was also applicable in general. God healed 7 persons in the bible, and all 7 were men. Because men are to have visions and lead people. Relationships break down normally is due to the man who lacks to take the leadership in it. Male by birth, but man only by choice. So true.

After that, we went over to some steamboat place at Bugis. It's a small shop opposite the DHL balloon thingy. Quite ok la, with only $16 per person, not much one can expect. We celebrated Colby's birthday there too! Hahaha. And group photos. Then we went to Bugis arcade to play for a while. Then, some went off while the rest went over to Marina Square. The gals pang-seh-ed us to watch Kungfu Dunk. So the guys played at the arcade for a while then we went to nua at McDonalds and waited for the gals. Then we went home.

Was listening to the song, Numb by Linkin' Park recently and I was reminded of what Bro Darren told us when we were in NTU. What are you aiming for? What are you doing this for? Find the source, find back the reason. If not, you will end up being numb of all these things and you find them irritable. I believe so. Without seeing the finishing line, one would not have endured the race.

Yup, that's all le for these 2 weeks, i guess.

To all those who are attached/married,
HAPPY VALENTINE'S DAY!

To all those who are not,
HAPPY FRIENDSHIP DAY!
PS. Your day will come, someday. =D

Till next time,
Till the last trumpet sound.

Numb By Linkin' Park

I'm tired of being what you want me to be
Feeling so faithless lost under the surface
Don't know what you're expecting of me
Put under the pressure of walking in your shoes
(Caught in the undertow just caught in the undertow)
Every step that I take is another mistake to you
(Caught in the undertow just caught in the undertow)

[Chorus]
I've become so numb I can't feel you there
Become so tired so much more aware
I'm becoming this all I want to do
Is be more like me and be less like you

Can't you see that you're smothering me
Holding too tightly afraid to lose control
Cause everything that you thought I would be
Has fallen apart right in front of you
(Caught in the undertow just caught in the undertow)
Every step that I take is another mistake to you
(Caught in the undertow just caught in the undertow)
And every second I waste is more than I can take

And I know
I may end up failing too
But I know
You were just like me with someone disappointed in you

I've become so numb I can't feel you there
I'm tired of being what you want me to be
I've become so numb I can't feel you there
I'm tired of being what you want me to be

Your Beloved
