Living Rain by Parachute Band
Let Your people come
In desperate need to You we run
Called by Your Great Name
With humble hearts we seek Your ways
We believe in Faith
Your promises You never break
Turn from wicked ways
To live as Christ for all our days
O God high up in Heaven
Won't You heal our land
Living Rain fall again
Over my life, over my land
Living Rain wash my heart again
Open wide Heaven skies
Over my street, O Spirit reside
Living Rain flood my life again
Come back, back to your first Love
Back to your first Love
Back to the Cross
Come back, back to your first Love
Back to your first Love
At the foot of the Cross

PAY POSITIVE ATTENTION
Quote - 'Leading is primarily paying attention.' - Lincoln On Leadership, Executive Strategies on Tough Times, Donald T Phillips, Warner Books, 1992, Pg 24
The key to growing anything is to pay it positive attention.
'Pay' The price is time. Make time for the highest priorities - like your children, your spouse.
'Positive' Give attention to the positives. Don't be hijacked by
the negatives which easily claim our attention.
'Attention' Give undistracted attention to the person. Turn off
the TV, the cell phone, put down your pen, the book
and look them in the eye. Listen, hear what they're
saying. Connection!

"The single greatest cause of aethism in the world today is Christians, who acknowledge Him with their lips, walk through the door, and deny Him through their lifestyles. That is what an believing world simply find, unbelievable." - DC Talk, What If I Stumble.
"Sometimes, when people leave the church, it is not that they don't love God anymore. It is just that they could not love people anymore." - Anonymous

So fast, it's mid August! Almost half of august has passed, but I don't really what to blog. Hahaha.
First up, Festival of Praise 2008 at Singapore Indoor Stadium, 1-3 August. Happened to attend all 3 days of event and it was great! Though a bit tiring, but it was good. With song leaders like Reuben Morgan & the Hillsongs team and Parachute Band, the whole place were filled with the praises and worship of His people. Followed that was the Word, which was brought forth by Pst Mike Conner. Anointed and simply hilarious speaker! Even so, he brought out the message loud and clear, total revelation. It was a great event. Just that I nearly went deaf with all the amps blasting for 3 days. =d
School has restarted and this year would be my final year. Just thinking about it, feels so weird. Soon workforce. That's another headache for another time down the road. Anyway, took up an interesting module this semester. [Who's Rules? Crime and Punishment]. Well, did you know how crimes were judged upon way before the juridiction came about? Crime was basically doing something that is contrary to the Word of God. (Wahhh.. Imagine you are jailed for disobedience towards your parents. *Gasp* *Repent* Thank God we're not in the old era.) Strangely but true. Also learnt alot of interesting things. Criminology is an interesting field and always has been one of my interest. Hopefully can pursue a private degree in Criminology in the future.
Went to watch the movie, X-Files: I Want To Believe, with the zone people at VivoCity. Feels a bit awkward and out of places. Hahaha. But overall was ok. The movie was quite ok, not bad in terms of videography. But plot wise seems more CSI rather than X-Files. Most of the people who watched it was quite disappointed, though there were some scary and gruesome part. After that, we parted and rushed for our last train.
National Day came and passed. Basically went out to play soccer with friends (travelling around like nomads till we found an available pitch), and totally KO-ed in the afternoon till evening, when I was awoken by my mum's calling to watch the National Day Parade as a family. Had dinner and chilled out with the gang at the airport. Basically, relaxed.
Next day after service, accompanied Ee Ban and Desiree for their newcomer's dinner at Roland's. Good place, nice food, hilarious emcees, new people, etc. How funny when we were chatting, that there was this girl who was also from the same junior college as me and now studying in NTU too. Never seen her before. Hahaha. Then, one of the CGLs was from my secondary school too. Ended up trying to remember the communist graduation song (HA!) and our pledge in chinese. Simply fun. Then, sent Desiree, Mellisa, Ee Ban and JX to the taxi stand and bus stop respectively. Then I just took my bus home.
This week is already the second week into the churchwide morning prayer meetings. And so far, been to everyone of them. The presence was great! To be able to discipline your flesh to wake up at 530am, take the train early morning to squeeze with the morning Tuas people (with no place to sit!), rush like schools of fishes to the bus to go to church. One bus driver was curious and asked, "Wah.. What day is it today ah? Suddenly got so many people?" Many people just grinned back. Most won't understand the logic of coming early morning to church to pray. I was kept on reminded of this verse for these 2 weeks. Incidentally, it's the verse behind the morning prayer meeting card.
2 Chronicles 7:14
If My people who are called by My name will humble themselves, and pray and seek My face, and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin and heal their land.
I believe that there is power in prayer. In sacrificial prayer. To seek the Lord when it's the most inconvenient, when it seems to be at an insane hour (Pst Yonggi Cho's church prays at 5AM, EVERYDAY. So don't complain.), when it takes a longer time to travel than you pray, but that's how God sees it as precious. The effort. The passion. The unity as 1 army. That's how everyone and the church grows: Not by might, nor by power, but by the Spirit. And it is refreshing time. Though initially not very easy to wake up early (my body was crying out for my bed every morning), but once you've taken the first place, it'll become a momentum that will keep on moving. Plus there's breakfast. =d
On a side note, I seemed to have a certain aura around me. A lot of people thought and assumed that I'm attached. Different group of people thought that I'm attached to a certain person. As of date, I'm alleged to be attached with 3 different girls. What the....?
Going overseas soon! Yeah! =d
Till next time,
Till the next trumpet sound.

WHITE LOVE STORY by As One
